Sports Team Building

Danaus Dynamics is a unique team building program that uses group hypnosis to increase the overall wellbeing and performance of not just an entire team, but of each team member personally.  This approach brings internal focus to the unique skillset of each team member and reveals how a group of athletes can maximize team effort and results by how they connect and perform.  Our program builds character, teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment and determination, while decreasing the stress and anxiety that can accompany some competitive endeavors.

High School

High school athletes are pressured by coaches, parents and themselves to constantly increase their performance levels.  Many are striving to accomplish the rewards of college athletics and in so doing they can ignore their physical and mental wellbeing.   If meeting these aspirations requires excelling beyond their capacity, it works to the detriment of the athlete.

As stress levels climb, little attention is paid to maintaining a healthy balance, and their stress gets incorporated into a cycle of performance that is not sustainable. Once they enter college the pressures of more intensive academics and a higher level of play adds to the imbalance. Stress reduction and managing stress is required to play at a maximum level of performance. Many fall apart striving for peak achievement and they can’t find ways to put themselves back together.

Danaus’ program helps these young athletes get grounded and find ways to focus on their ultimate goals through inspiration instead of stress and fear of failure.   Their lives become more balanced, their needs are not denied, and their personal achievements increase for themselves, their sport and their community.

High School

High school athletes are pressured by coaches, parents and themselves to constantly increase their level of performance, sometimes to their detriment because their aspirations are beyond their capacities. To excel they sometimes ignore their physical and mental well-being striving to accomplish the rewards of college athletics.

Their stress levels climb because they pay little attention to a healthy balance, and their stress gets incorporated into a cycle of performance that is not sustainable. Not enough attention is given to stress reduction so they can play at their maximum level of performance. Added to this, once they enter college the pressures of more intensive academics and level of play, adds to the imbalance. Many fall apart for a peak of achievement and can’t find ways to put themselves back together.

Danaus’s program helps these young athletes get grounded and find ways to focus on their ultimate goals through inspiration instead of stress and fear of failure.

By doing so their lives are more balanced and their needs are not denied thereby increasing their achievements within themselves, their sport and their community.

College Athletes

When an athlete is recruited to the college level, they might think of themselves as superior to their new teammates because they were at the top of their high school sport.  But, when they don’t play as much on the field, and their college coaches can be more critical, demanding and less supportive, they realize that they are now just one of many on a team of highly accomplished athletes.  It can be a huge blow to self-esteem. The athlete’s focus becomes distracted by their problems and emotions rather than focusing on their sport.

Self-concern like this can divide a team. Instead of striving for their personal best and integrating with the team they want to “one-up” their team members, sometimes not just in play on the field, but off the field as well.  Resentments can reverberate and disharmony can show up in overall team performance, which can lead to losses, frustration, anger and acting out in the community.

What appears to be problematic conduct and bad attitudes are often caused by the challenge of adjusting to a new and more demanding, high-performance environment.  Danaus’ program increases the likelihood that each individual player will see and understand the value of their own contribution and how they fit into the team. They learn to compete for their personal best to become the most effective team member. The outcome is better team cohesion and wins in every way, regardless of the score.

Pros

Athletes achieving the professional level of their sport prove to themselves that they are amongst the best of the best. However, they may have developed as a professional athlete, but their maturity as a person may not be at the same level. As a result, unaddressed personal issues may surface and profoundly impact their lives and the success of their teams negatively.

Some athletes can’t hand their fame or their wealth. Although they have enough talent, they lack an understanding of their core as a person. Without tools to deal with the resulting low self-esteem and personal weaknesses, they may overly rely on self-interested advisors, develop substance and behavioral dependencies, or display inappropriate and risky behaviors in the community. These choices lead to diminished individual performance and create barriers to effective teamwork, often resulting in team losses.

It can be difficult for a coach to unravel these kinds of problems. Demanding team harmony and “just do it” and win, does not help when the athlete’s issues are not primarily behavioral. The sources of performance problems are typically intertwined and deeply seated.

These super athletes need help to handle their professional and economic success. Danaus helps re-introduce the high-performance athlete to the part of themselves they have neglected. By reconnecting them to their true selves, they can make good choices, increase their focus on the team, and maintain good character on and off the field. Their increased confidence in their ability to succeed enables them to relax and renew their passion for the game, leading to a more valuable contribution to their team.

Pros

Athletes achieving the professional level of their sport prove to
themselves that they are amongst the best of the best. Although
developed as a professional athlete, their maturity as a person may not
be at the same level. Because of this uneven development, personal
issues that have been push down may surface profoundly impacting their
lives and the success of their teams. Instead of dealing w their personal
low esteem and weaknesses, they may overly rely on their advisors,
substance and behavioral dependencies, and inappropriate and risky
behaviors in the community. Some athletes can’t hand their fame or their
wealth. Although they have enough talent, they lack an understanding of
their core as a person, and therefore need help to handle their
professional and economic success. This can lead to diminished
individual performance and create barriers to effective teamwork and
team losses. It can be difficult for a coach to unravel these kinds of
problems because the source of performance problems become
intertwined. Demanding team harmony and “just do it” and win, does not
help when the athlete’s problems are not primarily behavioral and are
deeply seated.

At this level Danaus helps re-introduce the high performance athlete to
the part of themselves that has been neglected. By reconnecting them to
their true selves they are more able to make good choices, increase their
focus on the team, maintain good character on and off the field, increase
their confidence in their abilities to succeed, relax and renew their passion
for the game that leads to more valuable contributions to their team.

Professional Team Building

When worker attitudes are negative and cynical, company morale and profits can be affected, emotional problems can flourish, and productivity falls off. When a company’s team members feel like their opinions or ideas don’t matter, they are less apt to share their creative and important perspectives. When employees convert from enthusiastic participants to workers only there for a paycheck, their passions are blocked, they are prone to negativity, and at risk for burnout. As a result, companies see their medical insurance costs and sick leave increase, and turnover becomes an expensive problem due to lost productivity and recruitment and training costs.

Hypnotherapeutic team building can dramatically alter how team members see themselves and their essential role within a company. Danaus strengthens individuals who make up work teams to accomplish a company’s overall mission. Each executive or employee develops a unique sense of themselves and how they can contribute. By highlighting identity as a group member without lowering their sense of individuality, energies are coordinated, and a sense of mutual accomplishment is enhanced. They are better able to deal with the pressures of coworkers and the demands of their work projects. Work team leaders are more aware of their members’ needs and the importance of building esteem for the team’s overall performance.

Danaus understands that good communications, trust, and teamwork positively affect team members’ mindsets. An increased sense of inner security reduces interpersonal conflict and unnecessary workplace tensions, which translates to increased productivity, profits, and positive company culture.
